The funny part about owning a shop AND a web business is that you don’t get to know your web customers like you do your store customers. You don’t know what they look like, but you know what they wear. Well today I had the pleasure of finally seeing a photo of one of our favorite online shoppers. Joel has great style, just as we imagined.
Two of our most favorite customers, Brian & Michelle, just gave us the best Christmas gift ever. They have adopted the cutest most adorable baby girl who has the sweet disposition of an angel. They brought her in for a proper Acrimony introduction, wearing a chunky knit sweater, Swedish jeggings and a black and white tie scarf. We literally died all over ourselves. This is holiday joy, people.

Just in from one of our favorite brands, Nom de Guerre. We are terribly sad to hear they will be shutting their retail and wholesale operation. With the Fall collection as amazing as it was, it’s so sad to hear it will be their last. Cop your last NdG pieces HERE.
Press Release December 2010:
Countdown to Violence, Nom de Guerre’s 11th collection, concludes the group’s examination of utilitarian design.
The brand will close the Manhattan retail base and clothing line at the end of the season; and although the clothing will be discontinued, the team will rejoin as a collective for special projects. From it’s inception, Nom de Guerre was formed organically and evolved as a byproduct of the interests and social theories that resonated within the group.
With these ideas as the foundation, the members see the upcoming changes both as a phase of the brand evolution into a creative entity, and as an opportunity to explore outside interests.
Looking back at the body of work that the brand generated, the members are appreciative of the many opportunities that the collaborative effort brought, and see the experience as a great privilege.
Most of all, the members of Nom de Guerre are extremely grateful to everyone who supported the brand over the years.

Visvim on my mind, more designers should be using Horween leather on their sneakers.
I just said “I have so many gift ideas!” It’s true, this year more than any other year, I have so many gifts that I want to give to myself…and others. Hopefully this list will help you find what you’ve been looking for, outside the Acrimony shopping kingdom.
Smythson Quilted Camera Case, $180. You can get it monogrammed with my initials, too.
Generic Man 4-year anniversary shoe WITH a bottle of wine. Get drunk and look stupid good. $425
Giles & Brothers Ice Feather Collar, $225. I love the way this necklace looks on
a my bare neck.
Handmade Leather Journal, $57. I once received one of these and have yet to use it. This year I will, and the scribblings will turn into magic.
Eskuche bronze headphones, $65. Perfect for the plane or train so no one tries to bother me. Not really superior sound quality, but pretty good and they look really nice.
Uniqlo Fleece Gloves, $10.90. These are Men’s, but also come in size S/M which can actually fit my little paws. Could be a cute his/hers gift.
Topshop Knitted Fur Trapper, $36. There’s been so much fur out there, it’s guaranteed to flood the thrift stores next season. So be sure not to spend too much on your next fur purrrrchase.
BOO the Dog Calendar, $24.95. No explanation needed.
Knife and Saw Bike Shelf, $300. Handmade from solid wood, the perfect urban bike rack that prevents your apartment from looking like a bike messenger’s hangout.
DL & Company Set of 4 Skull Plates, $185. These are SO rad. Imagine serving pancakes on these guys.
More ideas to come, I hope we all don’t buy each other the same things. Happy gifting!
Really excited about Blanc & Noir to hit Acrimony this Spring. We didn’t buy into their shoes but the more I’ve seen the more I believe in the quality and overall design of the product. Made in Mexico, but rumored next season to be made out of Italy. I like a Goodyear welt on an oxford, with a heavy pair of raw denim, maybe a turned up Levi’s 505 cut? Yes.
