The new Minimarket collection for Spring is over the top fun and playful. The Swedish really know how to infuse humor into their clothing, without looking like you’re “funny.” My favorite piece from Minimarket this season is the Puppet Shirt. Perfectly peach, with cut-out elbows and the perfect fit.

The new collection of spring 2011 Super styles have just arrived and boy are we glad to get these bad boys on our faces. Though the sun’s been taking it easy for the last few weeks, you should remember that no sunlight doesn’t mean no UV rays. But do you really need a reason to justify picking up any of these new styles?

The classic People frame has come in a new faux-horn style (with brown front and “ivory” contrast) and a great new translucent tonal black. We’ve also carried this style in the with gold-metal details before, but now they’re available as readers! Just pop in your own prescription for some seriously dashing specs.

The ridiculously cool Lucia frame comes in the same light black colorway as the Peoples, but we’re also stocking it in an awesome puma color with gold metal accents.

Australian label MyPetsQuare is looking AMAZE for Fall 2011. Both dresses and separates in all nude tones plus a little yellow and a little polka dot make for a really fun way to dress up or dress down with the same few pieces. 

I posted a cute open/sheer/mesh print dress from MyPetsQuare Spring that we never booked. I think Fall is ripe for the picking. Expect to see MyPetsQuare in store soon….

Once we ship those packages out, we never know what becomes of those precious pieces. Unlike our in-store customers who regularly frequent the shop wearing their Acrimony purchases, we don’t have the luxury of complimenting our online shoppers on how good they look. Unless you’re Joel. If he were to walk into the shop, we would have to praise him all the time. It would get old. So instead, we can just flip back to this blog post and envy his great sense of style from afar.

The Sartorialist posted some street style shots of Rie from Style from Tokyo. She really embodies Japanese fashion, culture and humor, wrapped up in one small little package. I’m always excited to see the woman (and fashion) behind the lens.

I’m actually not a huge fan of United Nude, but this style in collaboration with Iris Van Herpen has really caught my attention. It’s a corset for your platform, let’s keep it skinny, k?

It’s St Pattys Day. Green pants are it, because green undies just don’t count.

Spending some time at the Odyn Vovk studio is always a treat for me. Seeing the collection one on one, without the crowds and the mess of lookers by, puts everything into perfect perspective. I can see every detail and ask questions about construction and quality; something you can rarely do while visiting the shows. Check out the upcoming assortment from Odyn Vovk, Fall 2011.

As much as I’d like to wish that $600 pairs of shoes were feasible on a weekly basis, I am a realist and know that no matter how much you love your zapatos, $600 is a spluuuuuurge. They should we well planned out purchases, spent on something you are absolutely dying for. Rich or poor.

So what about the fun stuff? The fashion-y trendy stuff that fills the gaps between the LD Tuttle’s and the Miu Miu’s? Introducing Jeffrey Campbell. Platforms and flatforms and all the in-betweens to fill the “I want something new, NOW” feeling.

We’ve been stocking Kai-aakmann’s women’s line for a few seasons now but for Fall we’ve decided to venture into the men’s collection as well. The theme of androgyny still runs deep here, but it’s a bit more masculine and understandable as sometimes it’s easy to go one way but not the other…if you catch my drift, eh?
