1. Where there’s a will, there’s a Wang.

The latest resort collection from T by Alexander Wang is making us a little woozy with anticipation for our fall arrivals. Minimal and practical, with the slightest notes of feminine details (a brush of midriff here, a climbing short seam there), all in a palette fit for a popsicle cart. Mmmmmmm.

  2. We wanna see Frances Ha. Greta Gerwig (who stars in, and also co-wrote the film with her boyfriend, Director Noah Baumbach) is kooky enough to be “that weird girl” but so beautiful, in a classic and comfortable way, that she’s downright charming. Who has never dreamt of jeté-ing across a city intersection before? Playing at the Embarcadero and Kabuki now.

  4. TONGUE TIED

‪Henrik Vibsovik has delivered yet another over the top run-way show with his spring/summer 2013 collection entitled “The Transparent Tongue”. We’ve just received our full delivery at Acrimony. The full range of women’s and men’s ready to wear—from graphic tongue tees to dip-dyed dresses to amazing knitwear to crazy printed shorts—are now available along with a variety of his signature patterned socks.‬ Some people have told us Henrik’s designs are crazy, but we think they’re just crazy good.

  6. The Two Most Talked About Pre-Fall Collections

If you’re Phoebe Philo or Christopher Kane, your ears are likely bleeding from all the buzz about your pre-fall 2013 collections. I wouldn’t say (as I usually do) that this is much ado about nothing. Celine continues to push irregular shapes, reminding us that oversized, too long, too short, are all purposeful here. Stop obsessing over the curvatures of the body but instead, fall in love with fabrics and textures that create new lines. Awkward length leather pleated skirts, dropped shoulder seams, short cuffs on jackets; I’m hoping to see this styling trickle down into the masses in seasons to come.

Christopher Kane, with his first Pre-Fall collection ever, is focused on rich colors, velvet fabrics, and creepy prints, all pulled together to make perfect sense. Never have florals been so provocative, lurex animal print been so understated, or frayed denim so elegant. Littered with Dracula t-shirts and an old Hollywood vibe, Kane has me anticipating his every next move.

  7. Say What You Will About Saint Laurent…

Everyone has an opinion about Hedi Slimane’s SS13 collection for Saint Laurent. Say what you will. I think it’s magnificent. The critics are babbling about predictability and lack of surprising elements.  I think it’s young and exuberant, wearable and chic, celebratory of Yves Saint Laurent in that cool girl Parisian way. I like pussy bows. I like floppy hats. I like cropped leather pants. I like platform stiletto Mary Janes. I like sequined tailored blazers. It takes no convincing. This collection was made for me.

  8. We spotted Jacob sporting his favorite fall staples available here at Acrimony. The mini-cord Kai Aakmann button-down makes for the perfect base layer with both color and texture. He’s obsessing over the Robert Geller Denim Motor, not only for it’s tailored cut, but for the amazing wool trimmed collar and cuffs. We can’t forget to mention how easy this handsome jacket slips on with it’s black satin lined sleeves.
