Oh.
My.
God.
You guys. They’re here. We’ve honestly been going crazy waiting (and obsessively watching the UPS tracking) for our first season of shoes and I think you can see why. LD Tuttle’s shoes are jaw-droppingly gorgeous and totally different. No boring basic pumps here; only lovingly crafted shoes hand made in Italy and designed in New York. We’re sorry we made you wait over two years for us to start carrying shoes, but believe me — it was sooooooo worth the wait.

From left to right: The Lean, a leather wrapped clog with a back buckled strap; The Split, a strapped sandal with deceptively dainty-looking suede mesh inlay; and The Weave, a show-stopping heeled boot with textured and smooth leather panels and a center back zip.

From left to right: The Shifter, LD Tuttle’s ultra-clever transformable boot that goes from a tall boot to a super easy-to-wear short boot; and The Push, our favorite boot of the season, which features a wrinkled leather upper that you can pull or push to style as you please and an insanely tall wedge platform.
Now, ladies of San Francisco, you have to promise not to fight each other over these, okay?
Hello People~
These Generic man shoes have been stomping around in my head for 2 weeks now. I’m obsessed with the cognac wingtip with Vibram sole. A bit chunky, a diversion from the super skinny/low profile oxfords that have been stealing the scene for so long. Slightly reminiscent of a Visvim shoe I was in love with (until someone started wearing it and it became my most hated shoe), wears a bit like a Red Wing but NOT A REDWING. Italian made, lightweight, pebbled leather and most of all, a refreshing style for the gentleman.

And then there’s him. More Vibram sole but with a thick canvas upper. One piece top panel, white trim, perfect for warm weather shorts and tee’s. Hopefully these will be sitting in our shop for you to see next Spring.

xoxo
Acrimony
Are you as excited about F/W shoes from LD Tuttle as we are?! I for one, cannot wait. We just received word of a short video produced by Zen Sekizawa, featuring an Olympic rhythm gymnast. Clearly, don’t try this at home with 5 inch heels on. But if you do, please send us the link.
Check out the video HERE.

I live in anticipation. I feel excited, overwhelmed, anxious, and exuberant at the thought of having these pieces sit in the shop. There are so many amazing items/designers/concepts happening for Fall. Even with my new camera, I suck at capturing the reality of some of these treasures. But I tried my best to keep my cool while celebrating my first venture into footwear for the shop.
Enter…LD Tuttle @Acrimony for Fall 2010.
People, yes, it’s OK to gasp in pleasure.

“The Push in Vapor.” This boot has a steady platform and moderate pitch, modestly speaking considering your nose will be smelling the air of alter elevations. The soft nappa leather can be scrunched at the ankle or pulled high and fastened with velcro.

“The Weave in Black.” Combat style lace-up with mis-aligned eyelets for a unique design up the front.

“The Lean in Black.” A clog. A super rad platform clog with an adjustable buckle sling back. If you don’t already own a platform clog you need this one. Even if you do, you still need this one.

“The Split in Vapor.” Suede mesh sandal that engulfs your foot like a glove. It feels Balenciaga without the extra zero at the end.

“The Shifter in Black.” A unisex boot that can be worn folded over as a short boot or unfolded as a tall shafted boot. Genius.

“The Gather in Black.” Another repeated style from past seasons…good enough to keep around FOREVER. Unisex for all.
We have so many Fall 2010 previews to share. If only I could figure out how to blog from my iPhone. Acrimony favorites from the new ACNE shoe line, Fall 2010: the ADMIRE, the SUPERIOR, the DRAW. I love being surprised every single time…

Patiently awaiting our first ACNE shipment for Spring…..
I’ve been having vivid dreams, every night, of different concepts/themes for the back room of the shop. A few weeks ago it was taxidermy that came alive, then kitchen ware, then used wigs (real and fake hair). All of which dreams that were more like nightmares. Then, last night, I had a dream about the back room turning into a boot/high-top shoe display. All men’s shoes, all over the ankle, all Acrimony favorites, and all that every man should own.

If this is your shoe closet, you were in my dreams last night. Amazing!
Interesting, the debate around the RRL Bowery boot vs Kiya’s Patina boot vs 1949 work boots from Montgomery Ward’s. Supposedly the Bowery is made on the same last and by the same shoemaker as the Patina//Self-Edge boot. I like how this workman’s style boot is making such a huge resurgence, however, I don’t like the hefty price tag ($750).

Kaylee Tankus is one of our best selling women’s lines. Easy, wearable, yet distinctive and original. I like what they do, and apparently so do you. Check out what Raphael Young has done with their freshman attempt at shoes. His vision? Designed for “elegant, sophisticated women who are not afraid to show themselves…”

I love looking at shoes, men’s shoes in particular. You can cheat on women’s shoes with all the extra embellishments. Men don’t go for that, well not really. This morning I’m into high tops. Skinny boy, urban dude, goth ninja, streetwear nerd, Americana, contemporary, gay boy, not in any given order. I can also think of one cool guy in particular who could rock this entire collection…
