//JUST IN: LD Tuttle Shoes

Oh.

My.

God.

You guys. They’re here. We’ve honestly been going crazy waiting (and obsessively watching the UPS tracking) for our first season of shoes and I think you can see why. LD Tuttle’s shoes are jaw-droppingly gorgeous and totally different. No boring basic pumps here; only lovingly crafted shoes hand made in Italy and designed in New York. We’re sorry we made you wait over two years for us to start carrying shoes, but believe me — it was sooooooo worth the wait.

From left to right: The Lean, a leather wrapped clog with a back buckled strap; The Split, a strapped sandal with deceptively dainty-looking suede mesh inlay; and The Weave, a show-stopping heeled boot with textured and smooth leather panels and a center back zip.

From left to right: The Shifter, LD Tuttle’s ultra-clever transformable boot that goes from a tall boot to a super easy-to-wear short boot; and The Push, our favorite boot of the season, which features a wrinkled leather upper that you can pull or push to style as you please and an insanely tall wedge platform.

Now, ladies of San Francisco, you have to promise not to fight each other over these, okay?

Sale Item of the Day: IRO Novda Tee

Okay, so it’s getting hot, right? We know you love your wool coat. And your cashmere scarves. And your merino cardigan. We love layering up as much as the next person, so we understand why you’re sad to put away all your cold weather gear as the sun starts shining in SF. But let’s make it a little easier, okay? What would you say about some gauzy, super comfy cotton tees that you can wear now (while it’s hot) and still wear later underneath things (when it’s cold)? Sounds good, right? Then get your hands on these IRO Novda tees now and thank us later. On sale for $104 $52!

Everybody has a love/hate relationship with jean shopping. It used to be so much easier, right? You grabbed a pair of Levi’s and went on with your business. But now you have serious concerns: Do they flatter your legs? Do they properly sit at your waist? Are they comfortable? Do they make your butt look cute? Now it seems like you have to try on a million pairs of jeans you hate before you find the ones you love.
We’re going to take the guesswork out of it and insist that you try on the Acne Kex, their skinny, low-rise jean. Available in an overdyed inky black and a goes-with-everything blue, they’re going to become your new favorite jeans. We promise.
Oh, and did we mention that they’re on SALE, too? Get your butt in here and in them, before someone else grabs your size!

//JUST IN: Made Her Think

The last pieces from Made Her Think’s spring 2010 collection have finally arrived at the store and they have definitely been worth the wait. Rich, lustrous metals and devilish curves put a cap to a great season from Meredith Kahn. Items to be posted soon to the webstore.

Double Chain Ring in oxidized silver ($138)

What would otherwise be a pair of cutesy rings gets a smart update in deep, oxidized silver and are linked together with a similarly treated pair of chain links. Let the chains dangle from your hand or twist the rings for a simple, but graphic look.

Serpent rings in silver ($138) and black rhodium ($173)

A triple looped ring wraps around your finger for a faux-stacked look. Grab the silver version for a brilliant shine or indulge in your dark side with the deep black rhodium. These rings are sized, but the loop construction gives them a bit of wiggle room.

Claw tusk studs in rose gold with smoky quartz ($391) and in oxidized silver with white topaz ($382)

Meredith’s penchant for combining the luxe, the romantic, and the wild comes together beautifully in these studs.  The backwards-curving tusks form the backing for a stark contrast against the delicate stone setting. We only have one of each, so if you’re as madly in love with these as we are, you better call or e-mail us right away.

It’s almost like Refinery29 can’t stop giving enough love for the jewelery brands we carry! Jill Golden’s jewelry line, Flutter, is full of all the old trinkets and baubles that you see in every grandmother’s jewelry box and at every flea market you visit. But these are brand new, have a modern edge to them, and there’s no haggling or waiting for grandma to get bored before you can get them all over your fingers and wrists. And with a stint at Cartier and extensive road-trips under her belt, it’s easy to see how Jill can mix the charms of the road with a smart sense of refinement. Stay tuned for updates on arrival dates, prices, and more.

//JUST IN - Lady Grey Spring 2010

Sorry to keep you guys holding our breath for so long, but we’ve very happy to announce that Lady Grey has arrived at Acrimony. We haven’t gotten a chance to add these to the webstore yet, so if you have a hankering for some pyrite and silver, just call or e-mail us directly.

Pyrite Dash Ring, $138

An open loop gunmetal ring branches out into a bar with a crushed pyrite inlay: a ring full of fool’s gold is way better than a fistful of dollars.

Grid Ring, $138

Decadently decayed, this cast ring made from oxidized silver feels delicate but can toughen up any look.

Pyrite Pendulum Necklace, $253

Four brass arms form a makeshift cage for a single, large piece of pyrite. Chain is unevenly treated for a one-of-a-kind patina.

Mink bone rings, $81 each

Cast from actual bones in silver, oxidized silver, and bronze, these rings are perfect for single wear if you want something wickedly dainty, spread across your hands in a glittering display, or irregularly stacked on one finger.

Triple Hexagon Ring, $161

One of our personal favorites from this collection (don’t be surprised if you see the Acrimony staff sporting these!), this silver ring utilizes smart geometry for a shape somewhere between medieval armor and an anatomic knuckle.

Facet Point Ring, $196

Oxidized silver meets rough-hewn geometry for a shape that’s distinctly Lady Grey. Wear it by itself for a real statement or couple it with the rings you already own to add texture, depth, and color.

Likin’ Some LAEKEN

And speaking of LAEKEN, we forgot to throw up some pictures from the latest shipment from Mallyce Miller’s beautifully gritty spring 2010 collection. Not only do we have the earlier styles in new colorways, we have great new pieces like the Kochi Tee with sophisticated tribal print and dramatic cut-out back, the super comfy Torino Tank printed with a deliciously messy and blotchy stripe, as well as several new dresses. They’ll be posted here and to the webstore soon, but if you just can’t wait, come by the store or drop us a line.

The Mini Market that Haunts Me

So this boot keeps haunting me.

The boot the Mini Market girls said “you have to order this boot, everyone has been dying over it.” And my response was, “it’s whatevers, and we don’t carry shoes anyway.” So, I didn’t order the boot. And of course, we got at least 50 calls/emails about the damn boot. It’s hanging on my wall of shame. “The things that got away.”

For Spring/Summer 2010, they’re doing this boot once again, and with a few upgrades…

The ss10 lookbook is pretty impressive as well. Well done.

Journal Standard on the list

Yes it’s still summer, but San Fran waits for no season. The fog is thick and the jacket is on. So winter perusing amidst planning for Japan is appropriate. I was looking through an old JOURNAL STANDARD catalog and thought about how important it is to mix high quality items with reasonable basics for the sake of layering. One big, amazing hand knit sweater, paired with an easy thermal and a scarf. Some JOURNAL STANDARD for the shop would be nice. It’s a massive collection, but well sorted through could be great…
