Our spring LD Tuttle collection has arrived and it’s a doozy! Boots in every imaginable shape, size, color, and material, with crazy comfortable heels and gorgeous new shapes. The line is pushing forward into new directions with looks that have one foot in traditional, classic styles and one foot firmly planted in the future. Come in and make your feet really happy.
Very few things are certain about the future. Lucky for you, I have a crystal ball and it’s speaking to me about your closet.
Peep a few SURE things about A/W12:
Bomber Jackets. The store is stocked with lightweight bomber jackets for Spring. Fall will require a heavier fabric. What about a bright orange snake print bomber?! If you can’t handle that madness, turn to a classic. (Minimarket // Alex Wang)
Cropped Turtlenecks. Lots of layering this Fall, as per usual. Think about pairing all the jumpsuits you bought for Spring with chunky knit turtlenecks in cropped fashion. (Back by Ann-Sofie Back // Rodebjer)
Neoprene Fabric. Wetsuits aside, the use of Neoprene stretch fabric hasn’t made much of an impression since the 90s. Imagine a party frock or these platforms to add texture in that cushie way. (Jeffrey Campbell // Alex Wang)
Sneakers. Spikes, studs, fur all up on your sneakers for Fall. Think about how to make what you already own seem sporty-cool, not sporty-Spice. Adding a good pair of sneakers makes it easy. (LD Tuttle)
Sleeve Accessories. Bracelets, stretchy materials, anything well-fashioned that can also double as a sleeve accessory. Every Swedish designer was using fasteners to keep the sleeves at 3/4 length. I think this one from Lady Grey will do double duty as it’s SO amazing even on its own.
Beanies. We’ll have a ton of beanies to choose from when Fall rolls around. But a beanie that stands straight up? That’s what you need. (Sunghee Bang)
Spikes! Go the glamourous route. Fall will bring back the spike, classy as all get down. Joomi Lim is remaking her classic spike bracelets in new colors, and introduced a spiked cuff that will blow you away. Jeffrey Campbell is making a hidden wedge sneaker (a la Marant) with a spiked counter. Probably not airport safe. (Joomi Lim // Jeffrey Campbell)
The sun is out today. Feels like summer. We recently received a shipment of Cheap Monday that has us ready for spring more than ever! As far as we are concerned there will not be winter this year! Check out this video from Cheap Mondays SS2012 show in Stockholm. Oh and be sure to check in with the ACRE blog soon, special giveaway on the horizon! Woooh!!
Still, in my opinion, one of the most underrated labels in women’s fashion, BACK by Ann Sofie Back. As creative director for Cheap Monday and her own main line collection Atelje, Ann Sofie Back is busy pumping out 3 distinctly different looks. Acrimony is still among only 6 retailers in the US to represent her, remember seeing it HERE, » HERE and HERE? With a successful presentation in Stockholm this week, I can’t wait to actually see this collection in person. Personal favorites include the oversized mesh fabric and the heart shaped half suit. BAM!
Something Else by Natalie Wood’s collection for Autumn 2012 is titled OUTLAW. Inspired by a lone desert dweller on way too much peyote, I feel the sun beating on me as my mind dances in psychedelic circles. UK-based artist Julie Verhoeven contributes to this collection with elements of a savage landscape in illustration and design. I’m excited to see the carry-over of unique prints and whimsical silhouettes without becoming overly feminine. Completely enthralled by it ALL. Enjoy….
Hey Guys, we’re BACK! Hope everyone had a great holiday. If you are anything like me you wish you were still opening presents. Or you are still trying to figure out how Santa Clause makes it all the way around the world. Shout out to my inner child! Ok, but seriously, New Years eve is just around the corner. And its one more reason to celebrate yet another special winter season. It also gives you and me another reason to shop. Now is the time to cop your final winter pieces as we fall into the spring. With that in mind, Acrimony is having a sweet sale in store and online! Stop in or do your shopping from home and enjoy 25%-40% off your favorite brands like Gitman Brothers Vintage, MiniMarket, Daniel Palillo, Silent Mens and Womens, Rodebjer , Wings+Horns and more!!
Your crazy friend is well…crazy! She’s fun at parties and lives by the expression, “you don’t need a dick to have balls”. This holiday season, give the belle with the balls a piece that is just as bold as she is. The Lets F Muscle Tee by UNIF is the piece that says it all, or doesn’t…stay with me here. Disguised as an unassuming screen printed tee, it folds up to display a secret message. She’ll love it, trust me. Feeling a little badass yourself? Our holiday UNIF collection includes other prints: all different, but equally rad!
LA-based brand UNIF is the newest collection to hit the holiday circuit here at Acrimony. Best known for their crude graphic tee’s, they’ve expanded into outerwear and bottoms that are sure to blow your mind. Peep some of the out takes from the latest photo shoot for our new favorite it-girl brand.
